ASE K28 Groundbreaking Ceremony: Strengthening ASE’s Commitment to Innovation and Technological Leadership

KAOHSIUNG, Taiwan, Oct 09, 2024 – Advanced Semiconductor Engineering, Inc. (ASE, a member of ASE Technology Holding Inc, NYSE: ASX, TWSE: 3711) hosted a groundbreaking ceremony today for its K28 smart factory in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. This new facility represents a significant investment in Taiwan’s semiconductor sector, reinforcing ASE’s commitment to innovation and technological leadership. The K28 factory is poised to bolster ASE’s competitive edge in the global semiconductor market and drive economic growth in Taiwan.

Scheduled for completion in 2026, the facility will create nearly 900 new jobs to meet the evolving needs of the high-performance computing and artificial intelligence markets. It features advanced packaging capabilities, including CoWoS which will support both wafer production and final testing. Additionally, the factory integrates cutting-edge automation and smart manufacturing technologies, alongside a low-carbon, green building design, furthering ASE’s commitment to sustainable manufacturing.

This investment not only positions ASE to meet the increasing demand for high-performance semiconductor solutions but also aligns with the industry’s shift towards more efficient and sustainable production practices.
