Green Manufacturing & Circular Economy
ASE manages environmental impact across the product life cycle, from material selection and manufacturing through use, recovery and final disposal.
Innovation with environmental and social value
ASE develops lighter, thinner and more energy-efficient solutions while researching non-hazardous materials and working with suppliers on responsible sourcing. Compliance with global standards supports product safety and market access.
Hazardous substance management
The Green Product Management System and substance database help ASE comply with IECQ QC 080000, RoHS, REACH, Energy Star and energy-related product requirements.
ASE’s Green Laboratory evaluates materials and develops manufacturing and packaging options with lower environmental impact.

Renewable energy
ASE’s net-zero strategy combines efficiency improvements with renewable-energy adoption. Solar systems operate at facilities in Kaohsiung, Wuxi and California, while other sites procure renewable-energy certificates.

The circular economy in practice
Waste and recycling programs connect internal operations with external recovery partners so discarded materials can return to productive use.
Waste molding compound
Silica-rich sealing waste is converted into products including paving materials, footwear compounds and coatings.
Packaging material
Used bubble wrap and foam are compressed into pellets that can become new consumer plastic bags.
Wafer tape waste
Material recovery partnerships create higher-value applications rather than sending production waste to disposal.
