Overview

Employees are our most important stakeholders, so people come first.

For an enterprise to operate sustainably, employees are the most important stakeholders. ASE adheres to a "people-oriented" culture, focuses on the rights and interests of employees, and formulates a complete salary, welfare and communication system to create a friendly workplace that attracts talented individuals — helping to drive the company forward, maintain long-term competitiveness and fulfil sustainable development.

Workforce in the digital age

We upgrade our people's skills for AI and smart manufacturing.

Great strides in semiconductor manufacturing are driven by AI and 5G, with automation, robotics and lights-out manufacturing as the pillars of smart factories. ASE develops training programs on AI and smart manufacturing and collaborates with universities to strengthen its workforce's skills — collaborations that are essential to building ASE into a world-class smart manufacturing facility.

Food catering

Safe, healthy food that respects a diverse, international workforce.

At ASE we apply the strictest controls on food quality and hygiene for safe consumption, and carefully select healthy cuisines for our cafeterias. Because of the diversity in our workforce, we ensure the food selection caters to the religious and cultural practices of our international employees.

Healthcare & screening

On-site clinics and free health check-ups look after body and mind.

In 2004, ASE Kaohsiung established a healthcare clinic offering free annual health check-ups and general clinical services for physical and mental well-being. Female employees enjoy company-paid pre-natal and post-natal care, and we work with local hospitals to give employees easy access to these services.

Health & safety

When COVID-19 hit, we built a cleanroom to make masks for our people.

In response to the early-2020 COVID-19 outbreak, ASE created an epidemic prevention and management framework to protect employees while minimizing disruption to customers and operations. We immediately built a Class 100K cleanroom to produce medical-grade masks for over 60,000 employees in Taiwan, later increasing capacity for employees outside Taiwan.

Maternity & parental leave

Comprehensive leave and on-site childcare give working parents peace of mind.

ASE has designed a comprehensive leave management system, with HR providing timely updates on labor insurance and subsidies and assisting with applications. Employees on maternity leave can apply for early or delayed reinstatement based on personal needs without worrying about their positions. ASE has also established childcare facilities at Chungli, Kaohsiung and Korea; their proximity to our factories gives parents peace of mind, and the high-quality, affordable kindergartens extend ASE's commitment to employee welfare.
