In addition, by protecting R&D achievements with intellectual property rights, an IP protective wall is established to prevent others from plagiarizing ASE's technologies and to defend against the threat of competitors with their intellectual property rights, ensuring ASE's operational freedom.
In 2019, ASE crossed 1,000 U.S. patents — proof of sustained investment in advanced IC packaging and heterogeneous integration that drives new applications across 5G, AIoT, XR, and AI.

Certification
Advanced Semiconductor Engineering, Inc. filed an application for the renewal of Taiwan Intellectual Property Management System (TIPS) AA Class certification in 2024. The renewal of TIPS certification (AA Class) was valid for another 2-year-term until December 31, 2026.
